Besides literally burning a hole in your pocket, designer-wear is also not very easy to source, says actress Subuhii Joshi who is currently seen in Voot’s Bigg Buzz . She says that her stylist also has to often answer questions related to her popularity before he can source such items for her.
“Talking about taking clothes from designers, I don’t really keep a track of their collection on anything as such. But most of my clothes are done by my designer friend Rehan Shah. When Rehan has to source something from a designer, they ask him, the number of my followers, Instagram ID. This is very common. Everyone goes through it,” he says.
However, these dresses are not an essential in her wardrobe, she says, “It’s not essential that you should be in designer-wear just because you are a pubic figure. I think you should wear what you like and what you’re comfortable in. So, if you ask me, if I like it, I pick it up,” she says.
The exorbitant prices that come along with their designer dresses or branded clothes are justified, says Subuhii, adding, “Paisa unke naam ka hota hai. So for example, it’s a Manish Malhotra dress, I also know that it is worth as much as the price. It’s the label. It works with their label. And, I think that’s okay. I’m nobody to say that it’s not justified because they have made their name and if we think that it’s not justified then why do actors also run behind designers and labels. They should just pick up something of their own.”

For her, comfort is a must. “I don’t design my own clothes because I have my personal stylist and a designer who does it for me. He knows what I want and also makes sure that I am not adjusting my clothes again and again. Whenever my clothes are being designed, the most important factor is comfort,” says the actress.
Ask her what is the most expensive/precious item of clothing she owns, and she says, “I think the most precious expensive clothing would be, the few Gucci and Versace dresses and gowns.”
