Aartie Miranni, co-founder and content head at Alter Ego Production, discusses the short film “The Elephant in the Room,” which features Daisy Shah and Viraf Patell. She believes that the film delivers its message in a fun and unique manner and is confident that the audience will appreciate its treatment.
The original story of the film was written by Aartie Miranni and her husband Nitinn. The idea stemmed from their personal relationship with Ganpati, the elephant-headed deity widely revered in India. The story revolves around a protagonist who starts having conversations with Ganpati and explores how the day unfolds as a result. The treatment of the film is lighthearted and devoid of judgment and preachiness.
Aartie Miranni, who comes from a corporate background with 23 years of experience in HR, found herself drawn to the creative field during the pandemic. After meeting her husband, who is involved in acting, stand-up comedy, and writing, she became connected to the industry and decided to venture into filmmaking and storytelling. “The Elephant in the Room” is her first production as a title producer.
Regarding casting, Aartie expressed her delight in working with a talented cast, especially Daisy Shah who played the critical role of Meher. Daisy’s portrayal aligned perfectly with the character’s essence. The rest of the cast fell into place organically. The film also features Viraf Patell, Nitinn R Miranni, Salonie Patel, Pratiksha Sen, and Akanksha Pandey.
