Mumbai, 24th October 2023 – The North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samiti concluded its week-long Durga Puja celebrations with a grand Dussehra and Sindoor Khela ceremony. The event was graced by a star-studded guest list, including Rani Mukerji, Anand Pandit, Monalisa, Hrishitaa Bhatt, and many more renowned personalities, offering a spectacular culmination to the 76th-year celebrations of this prestigious event.
The Centerpiece – An Awe-Inspiring Protima:
The focal point of this year’s festivities remained the breathtaking 20-foot-high Protima of Goddess Durga, adorned with an intricately crafted Mukut. This awe-inspiring idol, standing at 17 feet without the Mukut and stretching 30 feet in breadth, weighed over 3 tons. The immersion process required forklifts and cranes, and the Protima took seven rounds before being immersed.
“Thai Temples” Theme:
The theme of this year’s Durga Puja, “Thai Temples,” was expertly curated to incorporate the rich and ornate designs found in Thai temples. The Art Director, Kiran, successfully captured the essence of Thai aesthetics in the Pandal, creating a captivating Thai ambiance for all attendees.
