Get ready for a captivating episode of &TV’s “Atal” on January 23rd and 24th as it presents a special ‘Ram Katha.’ The show, which has been enchanting viewers with the childhood story of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will transport audiences back to the era of Ramayan with this compelling storyline.
In this narrative, Atal, a member of the Pandit family, accompanies his Dadaji, Shyam Lal Vajpayee (Milind Dastane), to recite the Ram Katha in a nearby village. However, the event takes an unexpected turn when Dadaji falls ill, disrupting the recital. Undeterred, young Atal (Vyom Thakkar) steps up to the stage, infusing the Ram Katha with his unique style, earning admiration and praise from the audience.
To enhance the emotional resonance of this sequence, singers Senjuti Das and Nishant Pandey, composer Nishant Raja, and lyricist Amit Sharma have collaborated to craft a special song. This song depicts the poignant moment when Lord Rama embarks on his journey to the vanvas (forest).
Shyam Lal Vajpayee (Milind Dastane) explains, “Atal and his family face adversity as his father Krishna Bihari (Ashutosh Kulkarni) is experiencing a shortage of money and striving to make ends meet. An opportunity for Ram Katha arises when Dadaji, a pandit, is invited to recite the Katha in a nearby village. Atal steps in when Dadaji falls sick, injecting his unique style into the Ram Katha. However, a disruption occurs when a British officer and his team interrupt. Atal, committed to Sanskriti, intervenes and challenges the interruption, sharing the profound teachings of Ramayan with the British officers. The narrative takes a transformative turn as the once-resistant officer undergoes a change of heart, moved by the timeless wisdom of Ramayan. He bows respectfully, offering admiration and respect towards the Ram Katha. Atal’s stand for cultural values becomes a catalyst for bridging understanding between cultures, presenting the universal impact of the epic tale.”
