On March 28, a crowd that included Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra attended the trailer launch event for Amar Singh Chamkila in Mumbai. The team also included Kailash Kher and renowned music composer AR Rahman.
Diljit Dosanjh stands up and bows down to touch AR Rahman’s feet as he and the other cast and crew members of the film Amar Singh Chamkila take the stage. The audience applauds Dosanjh’s kind gesture towards the renowned artist.
Imtiaz Ali praised Diljit Dosanjh at the release of the Amar Singh Chamkila teaser, implying that this was only the beginning of his career. The actor broke down in tears at Imtiaz’s compliments.
Imtiaz narrated how Parineeti had been waiting five years for a movie to feature her singing, and he had replied in the affirmative. This made them realize how much of a physical makeover Parineeti would need for the part, and Imtiaz even made a joke about how she could gain the weight she needed by indulging in foods like samosas and chaat.

Diljit On Doing Film About Amar Singh Chamkila :
Diljit said of Amar Singh Chamkila, “Chamkila ka naam hum kitne time se sun rahe hai. As a musician, I find it difficult to believe that Punjab is home to more musicians than any other place, even though Chamkila is the hardest to follow. We have to follow the composition, that’s for sure. (Chamkila’s name has been around for a while. As a musician, I believe that all artists in Punjab, and even outside of Punjab, still adhere to Chamkila. They continue to adhere to his compositions.”
Director Imtiaz Ali explained why he wanted to make a movie on Chamkila at the trailer launch event. He talked about how the artist’s ability to entertain and communicate with the masses through his language fascinated him and made him want to explore that world personally.
