The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards was a night to remember as top celebrities graced the red carpet at GIFT City in Gujarat. Amidst honoring the excellence of cinema and celebrating inspiring journeys, Alia Bhatt’s heartfelt acceptance speech stole the spotlight as she won the prestigious Black Lady for Best Actor (Female) for her exceptional portrayal of Rani in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.”
In her emotional speech, Alia dedicated her award to her beloved co-star Ranveer Singh, who played Rocky Randhawa in the film. She praised Ranveer for his exceptional support and credited him for bringing depth to her character, Rani. Alia expressed her gratitude, saying, “This award and my performance is synonymous with the other half of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ and that is Rocky. So Ranveer Singh, if you’re watching this, I will send you this award for six months, and we’ll share it in a year. Because if it wasn’t for you being the most wonderful co-star, I don’t think I would be standing here with the award. So, thank you, Ranveer!”
Alia also expressed her gratitude towards Karan Johar, the director of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to shine. She thanked Karan for his love, kindness, and energy, stating, “My love story with the movies started because of one person and that is Karan Johar. So thank you K, I know I have thanked you a lot of times on this same stage amidst many tears and I will continue to do that whether I am on stage or not because genuinely you believed in me, and you gave me so much love, you gave me the kindness, and you gave me your energy, and for that, I am always grateful. Thank you for making me your Rani.”
