What sets Lizaa’s Ganpati celebrations apart is her commitment to customization. Her Ganpati idol stands out from the rest, as she personally oversees the design and decoration. Lizaa starts with the body or structure of the murti from her regular vendor and then takes it upon herself to design it according to the theme and decor of the year. This year, Lord Ganesha is adorned in a striking pink color, and his outfit is crafted from white pearls.
One remarkable aspect of Lizaa’s celebration is that she takes charge of the entire decoration of the pandal (the temporary shrine) without seeking assistance from carpenters or others. She is a passionate do-it-yourself enthusiast, and this personal touch is her special offering to Lord Ganesha each year.

In addition to the customized decor, Lizaa takes pride in preparing the special food items, known as “bhog” or “naivedya,” offered to Lord Ganesha. This year, she woke up early in the morning to prepare modak and 11 different varieties of food items, symbolizing the 11th year of her celebrations.
Lizaa’s dedication is such that she personally handles the preparation of the first-day bhog, and from the second day onwards, she welcomes a bit of assistance from others. This practice adds a unique and personal touch to her Ganpati celebrations, making it all the more special.
While some may opt for fashionable or trendy Ganpati celebrations, Lizaa Malik’s devotion is genuine and heartfelt. She celebrates the festival with sincerity and loves taking on the responsibilities herself.
Notably, the famous singer Shibani Kashyap, who is also a close friend of Lizaa, joined the festivities to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha at Lizaa Malik’s home.
