Mumbai, November 23, 2024 – Internationally acclaimed actress and South Asia Ambassador for Human Rights, Sheena Chohan, has announced the launch of her groundbreaking campaign, “Read Me My Rights,” on December 10, Human Rights Day 2024. The campaign aims to reach 100 million people across India and South Asia with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), focusing on education, equality, and respect for basic rights.
For over a decade, Sheena Chohan has worked relentlessly to bring human rights to life, particularly for women and youth. As the South Asia Ambassador for United for Human Rights, she has spearheaded initiatives calling for human rights education to be made mandatory in schools and universities across India and neighboring countries, embedding the principles of equality and justice in the next generation.
Her efforts have been recognized globally, earning her the prestigious Hero Award, presented at the United Nations and the Presidential Award from President Joe Biden in 2024, honoring her unprecedented success in reaching 170 million people with human rights education.
