After a hiatus of four years, Surbhi Shukla is making a spooky comeback to television with the show ‘Shaitani Rasmein’ on Star Bharat. The actress took a break from television to explore opportunities in movies, and she has already worked on two South Indian films, one titled “Rani.” Surbhi, known for her role as Rohini in ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev,’ revealed that the slowdown in the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic led her to try her luck in movies.
‘Shaitani Rasmein’ marks Surbhi’s reunion with Nikhil Sinha, with whom she previously collaborated on ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.’ The actress expressed her excitement about working with Nikhil Sinha’s banner, Triangle Film Company, and praised the positive working environment of the team. The show’s storyline is described as reminiscent of childhood stories, featuring supernatural and ghostly elements.
In ‘Shaitani Rasmein,’ Surbhi Shukla plays the character of Arohi, the Badi Bahu (elder daughter-in-law) in the family. The plot revolves around the family members, each with their desires and reasons for performing ‘Shaitani Rasmein’ (devilish rituals). Arohi, as the elder daughter-in-law, supports her husband’s younger brother and his newly-wedded wife in settling into the family. As the story unfolds, more layers to Arohi’s character will be revealed, promising surprises and suspense for the viewers.
