Aradhana Sharma plays the role of Meneka in the latest Lakhan Leela Bhargava series. She is happy with the response she has been getting for her performance.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive. I feel my close ones and audience have been particularly impressed with the maturity and subtlety of my acting, it makes me feel so grateful and is pushing me to improve and learn more,” she says.
The best compliment she has received so far has come from her elder sister, Anuradha Sharma.
“Many people don’t know that my sister is my biggest critic. It’s really hard to receive appreciation or appraisal from her since childhood because she is highly honest and straightforward when it comes to me and my life and I feel so blessed about it. She hasn’t given me any fake compliments or praises but always explained to me where I can improve and learn. So she complimented this time without rectifying an error. She told me that you have grown up to be a very mature actor and you are doing an amazing job this time,” she shares.

There is much talk around how TV and OTT are two different mediums. Regarding the perception value for actors, according to Aradhana, there are indeed some differences between TV and OTT.
“OTT platforms often provide more creative freedom and opportunities for actors to explore unconventional roles and narratives. These platforms are known for producing content that can be edgier, more diverse, and less constrained by traditional broadcasting standards and censorship, which can lead to a broader range of roles for actors. This can enhance an actor’s reputation and expand their acting portfolio. However, it’s important to note that both TV and OTT have their own merits and challenges. TV still offers wide viewership and established networks, which can provide actors with significant exposure. Additionally, perceptions of actors can be influenced by the quality of the content and the role they play, regardless of the platform. So, while OTT platforms can certainly create a different perception value for actors, the impact depends on various factors, including the specific projects and roles they choose, the quality of the content, and the reception from audiences and critics,” she adds.
What kind of roles are you looking for in OTT in future? “I crave for being a versatile actor. I am highly inspired by Radhika Apte and Richa Chadha. I want to live every phase of an artist, of a human being. As I say ‘ek kalakar ko har akar me dhalna chaiye’, she says.
