Maldives minister Mariyam Shiuna accused India of targeting Maldives in a tweet, and that seems to have created a massive controversy. In his tweet, he called prime minister Narendra Modi a puppet and a clown. Actress Anupama Solanki says that she feels that Maldives shouldn’t be on anyone’s holiday lists.
“I think we should boycott the Maldives. India is a beautiful country, attracting everyone to places like Goa, and other beautiful destinations. Foreigners desire the Taj Mahal, and now Ayodhya is also on the top of the list. So, why go to the Maldives? We’re filling their pockets, and they’re holding signs saying ‘Ban Indians’. It’s like feeding someone, and they’re kicking you,” she says.
She adds, “It’s a new Bharat. I don’t want any opportunity to visit the Maldives; I never thought to go there because first, I want to explore my entire India. I’ll visit Lakshadweep, Andaman Nicobar, Uttarakhand, contributing to my own country. I am patriotic and will not go to the Maldives until I have explored the entire India. A few years back, Snapchat made a statement about India, and we showed them their place. Then, when China did the same, we banned all their applications. We don’t have a problem with anyone, but if someone talks nonsense about our nation, we should not listen.”
