Growing up, most of us look up to someone as our role model. This person inspires us to do well and motivates us to keep dreaming, working hard. Fashion Designer and owner of Designer Dream Collection, Anjali Phougat too has one. And, that person is Sadhguru.
“Sadhguru has nothing to do with the fashion world but I am amazed by his simplicity, ideology and the way he is following his passion and motivating and inspiring his listeners to make a difference in the world. I really feel inspired by his cause to save soil. I love his quote- ‘Incredible things can be done simply if we are committed to making them happen’,” she says.
Some people feel the need of a role model to set a benchmark to motivate themselves, while there are others who don’t believe in the concept of it. Sharing his thoughts on the same, she adds, “I feel we all should follow our heart and do what works best for us. Guru or role model can show you the right path to grow and lead your life towards a positive direction but again it’s a personal choice and I respect everyone’s opinion.”
Peace and joy, according to Anjali, comes from within, not without. “There are many books written on ‘flow’ – a mental state where we are completely engrossed in the task at hand and lose the sense of time. Flow is important to feel alive and blissful. Activities such as sports, music, and reading are ‘flow’ activities. People who live for the thrill by doing risky stunts are just in love with the flow. The lesson here is that, if we throw ourselves into our activities instead of doing them forcefully, joy will come naturally,” she explains.

Explaining what success means to her, Anajali adds, “The idea of success is never about being ahead of others, running in a race or making money, but learning from failures is the best way to grow. Success is a peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable of. If you are working on something that you are really passionate about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision and inner force pulls you up. When I feel happy from within and I am working on a purpose that I really care about which is all for the well-being of others, I feel accomplished.”
