This International Day of Happiness, actor Gurpreet Singh says that it is the little things that make all the difference when it comes to being happy. He says that he remembers multiple instances in his life, when he was truly happy.
“For me, happiness is all about finding joy in the little things, cherishing moments with loved ones, and pursuing my passion with dedication. While my career brings me immense fulfillment, I believe true happiness extends beyond professional success. It’s about finding a balance between personal and professional life, nurturing relationships, and pursuing activities that bring me joy outside of work. Maintaining this balance is indeed challenging, but I prioritise self-care, spend quality time with family and friends, and pursue hobbies that rejuvenate me mentally and emotionally,” he says.
He adds, “There have been many occasions when I felt truly happy, during my struggle days, with friends. I remember the day when I landed my first major role; I got Ekta’s message about me improving as an actor. Another happy memory is tying the knot with my partner, getting divorce order, put a smile on director’s face with my work, or reuniting with a long-lost school friend. These moments are priceless and fill my heart with joy.”
Ask him what gives him instant happiness, and he says, “Instant happiness, for me, comes from simple pleasures like sipping a cup of coffee, watching a captivating film, drawing a sketch, shooting an amazing photograph, having heart-to-heart conversations with my loved ones or helping someone without any expectation. These activities instantly uplift my mood and bring a sense of contentment.”
