Music producer Jackie Vanjari says that Mumbai is his safe place, his haven. He says that while it is expensive, each day in Mumbai is worth it as well.
“Born and brought up in Mumbai, this is home for me, so obviously, there is no place better than this wonderful city. It may be ranked as the most expensive city, but Mumbai gives you so much. You just get used to the challenges of a big city; you become stronger,” he says, adding, “Living in Mumbai requires serious effort; you cannot neglect your professional life. You will be replaced by many who are struggling to be in your shoes and trying to make a living. I love the professionalism and enthusiasm here.”
This city does come with its challenges, but they are worth it. “The biggest challenge of this city is overcoming the daily obstacles. The advantage is Mumbai is rewarding; it can fulfil all your dreams if you work towards it with full passion and enthusiasm. Mumbai is absolutely safe to travel; people are helpful, and they work long hours, so the city honestly doesn’t sleep,” he says.
Ask him if there is anything that needs to be changed in Mumbai, and he says, “According to me, there is a lot of development happening in Mumbai in recent times. The roads definitely need to be repaired in certain areas and kept in good condition at all times. Traffic can be controlled by methods like working from home and using cars on alternate days.”

He adds, “Mumbai leads a fast life; yes, it surely gives one a kick or keeps you motivated and enthusiastic mostly. Sometimes you need a serious break and a short vacation, and you are back and ready to face this city. The most expensive aspect in Mumbai is accommodation. Property rates are high, rentals are steep, but food, medical care, and entertainment are not so bad.”
