For actress Megha Sharma, her mother has always been there for her. This Thanksgiving Day, she wants to express immense gratitude and appreciation for the way she has supported her throughout the years.
“The culture of thanksgiving has not flourished in India to that extent, but I still believe in it. The attitude of gratitude is the most beautiful feeling. If you are grateful for every little thing in your life, you can achieve a lot. Just be grateful, and thankful. In my life, I am very grateful to my mom. Wherever I am today, it’s because of my mom. It’s all because of her hard work, trust and the faith she kept in me. I have got several stories in which she has been the most ideal person to date. I want to say that my mom will always be my ideal person,” she says.
She adds, “I come from an army background. My mom is a brigadier in the army and I have seen her putting so much effort and hard work. Even after having such a busy schedule, she tried to give me time and love. The way she brought me up, I remember even the smallest things about her.”
Sharing an old memory, she says, “There was an incident in my school days when my mom protected me in front of my teacher. She knew that I was wrong then, as I was very young, I was wrong in that situation. But she refused to accept my mistake in front of my teacher. She handled it so well and took my side and that made me stunned. When we came back home, she made me sit and told me the reason behind protecting me. She said that she didn’t want my teacher to know that I committed something wrong. Because I had a good image in front of my teachers, I was good in my studies and a responsible child. So, my mom didn’t want them to change their perception of me and that’s why she refused to accept my mistake in front of them. She protected me in front of them and made me understand about the situation at home. She said that if I’m truthful to her, she’ll be there to protect me forever. She even said that I need to trust her, that she’ll be the only person who is never going to judge me for my mistakes, I just have to be honest and truthful with her for the whole incident that happens to me. Since that day, she has been my best buddy.”

Talking about the relationship she shares with her mother, she says, “I inform my mom about even the smallest things in my life. I don’t hide anything from her, I am just like an open book in front of her. I am sure that many people tell everything to their parents, but there’s always something difficult for them to tell. But when it comes to me, I tell my mom everything. I am grateful for the way she bought me up and supported me in each and everything. The biggest thing is she never forced me to gain more marks or be successful in life. She always asked me to be a good human and do good. That’s all she wanted from me and nothing else. I am thankful to her that she trusted me and never forced me to choose a particular career. Even when it came to acting, she never asked me to leave it. She always said that I could become anything I wanted after graduation. And my marks never mattered to her. I love her so much and I am so proud of her for giving me such a beautiful life even after her hectic schedule and traveling.”
