While she misses the cold weather in north India as well as abroad, actress-producer Namita Lal says that she enjoys the slight temperature drop in Mumbai too. Namita, who is known for her films Before life after death, Lihaaf, Country of the blind, Oxygen, Football-The Goal, adds that she stays at Madh Island, an open area near the sea in Mumbai, and it gets pretty chilly there.
“Actually, I’ve been in Mumbai only for the last three years, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how cool it gets during December, January, and February in Mumbai. From what I remember about 20 years ago, it wasn’t really that cool. So, it’s quite nice, and I stay in Madh Island, which is fantastic in this cool weather. But I do miss the really cold winters of, let’s say, London or even Delhi. I do try to visit Delhi or some places in Europe during the winters to experience that chill, even if it’s just for a short while. But I also enjoy the chilled Mumbai air and the sea breeze during these months,” she says.
As for winter fashion, she says, “I love wearing my T-shirts with jeans or pants paired with an oversized shirt. That’s how I layer my clothes. I think it’s very stylish to wear a large white shirt with a white or black T-shirt and blue jeans or pants, or tights. I also take out my boots whenever I get an opportunity to wear them in the so-called winters of Mumbai.”
