Ranveer Singh Malik , a well-known face in the television world, has taken up a challenging and intense role in the show Suman Indori, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah of Studio LSD. Ranveer, who is playing the character of Gulshan, dives deep into the complexities of this dark character, offering a sharp contrast to his real-life persona.
When asked about his character in the show, Ranveer revealed, “My character’s name is Gulshan. He’s a womanizer with a very intense personality. Gulshan runs the Sarafa Bazar, and he and his mother own the house where Suman and her family live as tenants. He has a love interest in Suman and is determined to marry her, no matter the cost. He’s the kind of guy who will do anything, even attempt terrible things like forcing Suman into marriage.”
However, Ranveer is quick to draw a sharp line between himself and the character he portrays. “Personally, I am very different from Gulshan,” he says. “As Ranveer, I can never imagine disrespecting women. I have a sister, a mother, and respecting women is my utmost priority. Gulshan is a bad guy who even attempts a rape on Suman, which is something that I, in real life, would never ever think of doing. It’s hard to play a character like him because he’s so far from my own values.”
Ranveer’s sincerity and respect for women are evident, which makes his portrayal of a morally dark character all the more impressive. It’s a challenging role for any actor, especially when the character stands in stark contrast to their personal beliefs.

This isn’t Ranveer’s first collaboration with Studio LSD, as he previously worked with them on Pyar Ka Pehla Naam: Radha Mohan for over two and a half years. Speaking about his experience with Prateek Sharma and the production house, he shared, “Working with LSD is always fun. After working with them in Radha Mohan, I’m back again with another show. The energy on set is great, and they’re really committed to delivering quality content. It feels like coming back home.”
Ranveer Malik shared that he’s working with Anita Hassanandani for the second time, having previously collaborated with her on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
Suman Indori is not just another drama; it delves into the struggles of a strong, resilient woman fighting against societal pressures. He believes that this theme will resonate deeply with audiences, especially women. “The show tells the beautiful story of a strong girl, Suman, and I hope it sends a strong message to girls everywhere. I’m confident that the audience will connect with it because it portrays the challenges many women face and how they overcome them.”
Ranveer Singh Malik’s portrayal of Gulshan is bound to stir emotions—whether it’s through hatred for the character’s actions or appreciation for Ranveer’s ability to bring such a layered figure to life. As Suman Indori continues to unfold, viewers can expect an intense, gripping narrative where Malik’s performance will surely leave an impact.
