Siddharth Anand’s latest directorial venture, “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has emerged as the first box office hit of 2024, crossing 352 crores in gross worldwide collections. The film, produced by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, continues Anand’s remarkable streak of delivering box office successes.
Anand, known for his diverse filmography, has directed eight films spanning from Semi-Hit to All Time Blockbuster categories. His directorial journey began with “Salaam Namaste” in 2005, followed by “Ta Ra Rum Pum” in 2007. “Bachna Ae Haseeno” (2008), featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, marked another box office hit in Anand’s repertoire.
In 2014, Anand ventured into action territory with “Bang Bang!” starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, which grossed 333 crores worldwide and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2014. The success streak continued with “War” (2019), an action thriller featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, which garnered critical acclaim and grossed over 475 crores, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
“Pathaan” (2023), starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Anand, marked a significant milestone as the first film post-pandemic to gross over 1,050 crores worldwide. Anand became the first director from the Hindi film industry to deliver a 1,000+ crore film without including the Chinese market.
