&TV’s recently launched show ‘ATAL’ has been making waves, featuring child actor Vyom Thakkar as young Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The show, which explores the formative years of the late Prime Minister, has garnered praise for Vyom’s portrayal since its premiere on December 5, 2023. Vyom, selected from over 300 aspirants, is dedicated to his role, actively immersing himself in various nuances of Atal Ji’s personality and practicing scenes to authentically bring the character to life.
Excitement peaked for Vyom as he, accompanied by his parents, attended the premiere of ‘Main Atal Hoon’ on January 19th. The movie, featuring the talented Pankaj Tripathi as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is expected to provide valuable insights into the leader’s extraordinary life and political journey.
Sharing his joy after watching the film, Vyom said, “I went with my parents to see the movie ‘Main Atal Hoon,’ and it was so much fun! While playing young Atal in the &TV show ‘Atal,’ I learned much about his formative years and life before we started shooting for the show. And there is always something new to discover as we shoot for our episodes. Our research team shared fascinating insights into Atal Ji’s childhood story that many people are not aware of while his political journey is in the public domain, and everyone knows about it.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the film, Vyom added, “From the time I heard about the movie being made on the extraordinary life and political journey of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I was keen to watch it. This way, I could learn more about Atal Ji and his amazing contributions. The movie gave me valuable insights into the leader’s journey, and I was thrilled to see my favourite actor, Pankaj Tripathi Sir, essaying Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s role. I am a big fan of Pankaj Tripathi Ji and want to meet him in person someday. He is an amazing actor, and I enjoy watching his movies and shows.”

Reflecting on the inspiration he draws from Atal Ji’s life, Vyom said, “Seeing him onscreen as the leader, ‘Atal,’ was exciting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I feel Atal Ji’s life story is quite inspiring. As a kid, it has made me realise that even if you are young, you can dream big and be kind and brave. My character of young Atal shows that even the greatest leaders started as kids with big hearts and dreams. It is about believing in yourself and going after your true beliefs.”
