Indian cinema is set to take the global stage as the much-awaited magnum opus, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar, is all set to premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Festival in New York on June 13, 2023. This is a momentous occasion for Indian cinema, as Adipurush is the first Indian film to be selected for the Tribeca Festival, which is synonymous with creative expression and entertainment.
Adipurush is a depiction of one of the greatest epics in Indian history and culture, The Ramayana. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in pivotal roles, the film promises to be a visual treat for audiences worldwide. The movie is set to release globally on June 16, 2023.
The Tribeca Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center. Over the years, the festival has become a platform for diverse audiences and artists to come together and celebrate storytelling in all its forms, including film, TV, music, audio storytelling, games, and XR. In 2019, James Murdoch’s Lupa Systems bought a majority stake in Tribeca Enterprises, bringing together Rosenthal, De Niro, and Murdoch to grow the enterprise.
