Mrunal Thakur is one actress who certainly is going places. With a packed line up for 2023 with films across genres including a social drama, a thriller, a comedy amongst others, Mrunal has an illustrious time ahead of her. 2022 too had been a rewarding year for the actress, with her south debut Sita Ramam now making it into the IMDb’s yearly top 10 national films of the year. Not only did the film do well in its original Telugu and Malayalam version, but also scored well with critics and box office alike for its Hindi release, making Mrunal an actor to have now found acceptance nationwide.
The IMDb round up is a prestigious ranking method as it’s an audience driven platform wheee a film that has at least received 25000 or more organic votes has a high score on the platform. Sita Ramam found an audience rating of 8.6/10, making it into the top films of the year.
Mrunal received her trophy for the honour and was grateful for the love that she has received, “It’s unreal to be here today. When I started from Love Sonia I didn’t imagine to be here at this juncture so early on. I’m so happy that the audiences have embraced me, and most importantly my character of Sita. The film is very close to my heart and very special owing to a lot of reasons. Going from figuring my way as actor into the film industry to now have found appreciation on a national level from audiences is what makes me really happy. It’s an exciting time to be an actor and be working with filmmakers from across and that is what I want to continue striving for”.
On the work front, Mrunal has an educating 2023, with 5 releases including Pippa with Ishaan Khattar, Gumraah with Aditya Roy Kapur, her next titular lead Pooja Meri Jaan. Aankh Micholi with Abhimanyu Dasani and an anthology on Netflix Lust Stories 2 with Angad Bedi directed by R Balki.
