Actress Somy Ali’s US-based NGO, No More Tears (NMT), is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual fundraiser in June. With a mission to assist victims of domestic violence and rape, NMT has been providing essential support and aid to countless women and children throughout the years. The upcoming event, set to take place on the 7th of June, promises an evening of delightful cocktails, tantalizing bites, and dancing at Bagatelle Miami.
The initiative for this year’s fundraiser was taken by Daniela Frewa, a regular monthly donor to NMT, who formed a dedicated committee of influential women in Miami to plan and organize the event. Erin Newberg, the chair of the gala committee, along with Cristina Scarano, an entertainment lawyer for BBC and several top-notch TV shows, and Lauren Walsh, among other remarkable women, have poured their hearts and souls into the meticulous planning and execution of the event. Despite their own busy schedules and successful businesses, these women have gone above and beyond to secure sponsors, arrange food and beverages, and ensure that Miami’s finest are present to support this important cause.
“The success of this larger-than-life event is crucial for NMT’s existence, as it directly impacts the lives of victims we strive to help. The funds we receive through ticket sales and silent auctions enable NMT to continue its vital work not only locally and nationally but also internationally, providing assistance to victims in India and various Latin American countries, where domestic violence remains alarmingly prevalent,” explains Somy Ali.

The global community is also invited to contribute to the cause. Somy highlights that many individuals from different countries who are unable to attend the event in person have the option to purchase tickets online or make significant donations through NMT’s website. Their support is invaluable in sustaining NMT’s efforts.
Somy expresses her heartfelt gratitude to the committee of dedicated women who have taken charge of planning and organizing the event. She humbly acknowledges that she is not directly involved in this aspect, recognizing that without the tireless efforts of these women, NMT would not be able to fulfill its mission. Somy acknowledges that the committee members are the driving force behind the organization’s success, and both herself and the victims owe everything to them.
The annual gala and fundraiser hold great significance for Somy and the NMT community. It serves as a platform for survivors to share their stories of resilience and transformation, highlighting how NMT’s services have rescued them from abuse and profoundly changed their lives. Somy cherishes this time of the year when the gala takes place, as it showcases the unwavering dedication and hard work of the committee members, who have tirelessly ensured NMT’s continuity. A simple thank you can never truly capture the depth of appreciation for their time and efforts. Somy acknowledges that she will forever be indebted to the committee for their ongoing commitment to NMT.
As the date of the No More Tears annual fundraiser approaches, anticipation grows for an extraordinary evening filled with compassion, support, and solidarity. Through the collective efforts of Somy Ali, the committee members, and the generous contributions from supporters around the world, NMT continues to empower survivors of domestic violence and rape, offering them hope, healing, and a chance at a brighter future.
