Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has sustained a leg injury while filming his upcoming movie, Vilayath Buddha. Known for his impressive performances in films like Lucifer and Jana Gana Mana, Prithviraj Sukumaran is a renowned star in the Indian cinema industry.
The accident occurred during the shooting of an action scene, leading to a leg injury that requires him to undergo keyhole surgery. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Kochi, where the surgery is scheduled to take place on June 26th.
As a result of the accident, the production of Vilayath Buddha has been temporarily halted, and the actor will be taking a few months’ break to recover, following strict medical advice. The incident has raised concerns among his fans, who are wishing for his speedy recovery.
The movie was originally planned to be wrapped up by the end of this month, but with the unfortunate accident, the completion of the film will be delayed until the coming months.

In addition to Vilayath Buddha, Prithviraj Sukumaran has other projects in the pipeline, including L2: Empuraan, Aadujeevitham, and Salaar.
He will be playing a lead character, an antagonist, in Salaar, a highly anticipated film starring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, known for his work in the movie KGF. Salaar, a big-budget Telugu film with an estimated budget of approximately Rs 200 crore, is scheduled to be released on September 28, 2023.
Vilayath Buddha, directed by Jayan Nambiyar, is based on the celebrated works of Malayalam writer GR Indugopan with the same title. The story revolves around a dispute between two main characters claiming ownership of a sandalwood tree. The film also stars Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan in pivotal roles.
