Susieben Shah (Chairperson, Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights), Payal Rohtagi, Sangram Singh, Dr.Aneel Murarka, Nisha Jamwal & Nandita Puri, Benaifer Kohli, Poonam Soni, YP Singh and many more.
Adv. Abha Singh and Rannsamar Foundation launched an all-Indian legal aid network to eradicate manual scavenging to end the discriminatory and hazardous practice of manual scavenging. Manual scavenging removes human excrement from toilets, septic tanks, or sewers by hand.
Adv. Abha Singh says “The launch of the legal website is significant since, despite laws banning manual scavenging, the practice continues unabated, with contractors often outsourcing work to daily wagers for as little as a few hundred rupees a day. It is not only illegal, it also causes deaths, the website will enforce the laws more stringently, and also give a fresh push to procurement and rolling out of machines”
