It is often difficult to accept the changes that our bodies and skin go through as we age. Probably, it affects more when one is a public figure, hence which leads to the use of filters social media and even otherwise. Actress Hansa Singh opines that the increasing use of filters by most, even by the youth, has made it difficult for us to accept our realities and flaws. She talks more about it.
“Don’t we all want to freeze our age and with all our features and glowing firm skin etc intact? It’s the human desire to look and feel young even when we age. Having said that, these apps bring in a way to feel or see yourself in that light again. It’s a good factor. But excessive use is bad. As we need to be real with grace. We are created beautifully and if we take the right steps, we can keep it good as we age. I know so many who use filters left, right, and centre. They don’t look like themselves either. I wonder why?” she says.
For someone like her who has always ‘stood by the norm to be real’, she does not believe in the overuse of filters and setting a wrong precedent to her followers.
“Even when we do photo shoots and later editing happens to make it look what people would love to see. But I personally like to see myself in pictures the way I am and not be like anyone else. So I try to impart something real. Those who do will realise its worth sooner or later,” she adds.

On whether she ever thought of completely giving up on it, Hansa explains, “Use of filters is not bad. Sometimes they enhance the pictures, add a story or character to your pictures. It’s good to see edits being so easy. I use filters to enhance and not to change or be somebody else. Use logic not with a desire to look good. We owe it to society which look up to us. And we owe it to ourselves to be authentic and real. And, our fans will love us. Don’t give in to trolls
