Charrul Malik says that one needs to have a positive and happy mindset in order to stay fit. She says that mental and physical health are interlinked.
“I try to exercise at least five days a week. And I have been following this regime since I think five years, maybe more than that. Before that, I used to go for walks and jogs. I think health is not external, it’s internal also and I try to be stress free as much as I can because these days people fall sick mentally faster than physically, and I think that’s a prime reason that our immunity and metabolism falls easily. If our thoughts are negative, it affects our health,” she says.
She adds, “I don’t set high goals and I try to live normal and simple. The more you stress on living a healthy life the more you’ll be stressed about achieving it. Try to set small goals and try to do different things and exercises so you don’t get bored too. The more you laugh and smile and stay happy and keep toxic people out of your life the more healthy you will stay. Keep positive company, stay away from people who give you negative thoughts.”
As far as working out goes, Charrul likes to diversify. “I do different kinds of exercises every day, one day cardio, one day functional, the other day yoga, then back and shoulder so that my routine is not monotonous. Life should be very colorful so that you don’t feel bored. I briskly walk in a surrounding with trees and greenery with my pet Della, it’s our me-time,” she says.

Ask her for tips to stay healthy and she says, “Be consistent, regular and be practical. Don’t set any goals because if you set goals and take it as a task it becomes stressful in completing them. Don’t copy anyone and do what suits your body and be happy as it is the key to healthy life. I think rather than getting so stressed out with so much on social media, we should detach ourselves from the phone while working out. These are small things we can do to keep ourselves healthy and happy
