Dr Hedgewar Hospital run by reputed organisation BAVP has been awarded as ‘Most Committed NGO’ in 7th Corporate Social Responsibility Summit and Awards 2023. Held in Mumbai, these are the most coveted awards for corporates under Corporate Social Responsibility. “ This is possible only because of team work and collective efforts of all Doctors, workers and colleagues. I am also thankful to all the beneficiaries of our CSR projects who understood the potential of development and used it to the best of their advantage,” says Dr. Anant Pandhare Medical Director of Dr Hedgewar Hospital.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratisthan (BAVP) is a charitable trust providing quality and affordable healthcare service to the poor across India.
What had started in 1989 as a 10 bed hospital run by a group of self-committed doctors has taken the shape of 3 Tertiary – care hospitals with 90 Lakh plus patients treated, running one of the biggest blood banks in Asia along with a Nursing college and more than 100 doctors at service. They are running social development programs in hundreds of slums and villages for community health, women empowerment, education, natural resource management, skill development and many other fields.
BAVP is now embarking on an ambitious project to establish a medical College in the city of Aurangabad. The running institutions under BAVP are Dr Hedgewar Hospital, Babasaheb Ambedkar Medical research society, Dattaji Bhale Blood Bank, Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Ekatma Samaj Mandal and Dr Hedgewar Nursing college are all in Aurangabad. Other institutions are Swargdeo Siu-Ka-Pha multi-speciality hospital in Assam and Shri Guruji Rugnalaya in Nashik.
