Chitra Vakil Sharma received a number of honours in 2022 and hopes this year will also be a good one. The storyteller and producer of the web series Tandoor, was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke awards for ‘Most Popular Upcoming Producer’ and ‘Most promising Producer’ in March and November, respectively, “award of excellence” from Rashtriya Military School in December for her movie Sarzameen e Hindustan. Every such honour means a lot.
“I am happy. It has been a humbling experience. Awards are important to me because it gives me reassurance that what I have done is of great meaning not just to the team and me but to the audience and various committees too. It is a feeling of satisfaction and motivation that gets me all geared up to wake up every day and go to work with more energy and positivity. A person’s ambitions should be never-ending and one should always aim for the higher, in terms of both, the work and achieving the recognition that are the awards in life. All I do is pour my heart into everything I envision to create, and getting the recognition for it is the best return I could ever imagine receiving,” she sounds happy.
Chitra hoped to live up to expectations in 2023 with substantial work. She has a number of things planned including interesting projects. Work on all of these is presently in progress. Meanwhile, her production Raktanchal 2 did well this year.
“My aim is to be felicitated with all types of awards be it National award, golden globes or Oscars etc , who doesn’t like to be appreciated and that’s when I will think of resting . Until then, I will keep working and making sure that I am able to create content that entertains the audience and is worthy of the award,” she ends.
