April 13 marks the first birth anniversary of the late actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, who passed away on March 9 earlier this year. While his fans continue to remember his contributions to Indian cinema, his family and friends are finding it hard to deal with the loss of a beloved member. In a recent interview, Kaushik’s nephew and producer Nishant talked about how the family is coping with the tragedy, especially his 10-year-old daughter Vanshika, who is missing her father immensely.
Nishant revealed that Vanshika has been struggling with her emotions in the past few days. “She has broken down again and again. Yesterday, too, she cried a lot, and chachiji had to put her to sleep. She is missing Satish ji, and says ‘papa’s birthday has come, but he is not here’. She has even made a card for him. Chachiji, as a mother, is trying to be brave and being with Vanshika,” said Nishant.
To commemorate Kaushik’s first birth anniversary after his death, his family and friends have decided to be part of a special tribute ceremony hosted by his close friend, actor Anupam Kher. Nishant shared that the family is trying to stay strong and hold onto good memories to move on from this tough time. “We are walking into his first birth anniversary just one month after he passed away. It is a very difficult time for us. We are yet to deal with the loss. His daughter (Vanshika) and chachi ji are still recovering from the loss,” he said.
At the tribute ceremony, Kaushik’s friends and colleagues will reminisce about the good times spent with him. “He used to go and meet his friends — Anupam sir, Anil Kapoor sir, Boney Kapoor sir during the day, and spend the night with his family. This time, that is how we decided to celebrate it. At the get-together, we will be giving a tribute to chachaji, and celebrating the life of Satish Kaushik. There will be singers too,” said Nishant, who had worked with Kaushik on several projects.

Nishant also opened up about Vanshika’s special bond with her father and how his absence has affected her. “The two had a special bond, as she used to wait for him to come back so that they could make videos together. The vacuum is hitting her,” he said.
Lastly, Nishant addressed the rumors surrounding Kaushik’s death, calling them “uncalled for” and an attempt to capitalize on the situation. He said that the family knew it wasn’t true, which is why they maintained their silence. “It fizzled out, but it did impact us. However, now, we just want to grieve in peace and deal with the loss,” he said.
Satish Kaushik was a celebrated actor, filmmaker, and theater director who had contributed significantly to the Indian film industry. He began his career as an assistant director in the 1980s and made his acting debut in 1984 with the film “Masoom.” He went on to act in several successful films such as “Ram Lakhan,” “Saajan Chale Sasural,” and “Mr. India.” Kaushik also directed several films, including the critically acclaimed “Tere Naam” and “Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai.” He was known for his wit, humor, and his ability to make people laugh.
